As you may recall from our update in November, Allianz Global Assistance (Allianz), our long-time partner for out-of-province/country travel products and services, has made the decision to transition out of the group travel assistance business this year. Fast-forward to February 2023 and we are pleased to announce that CanAssistance will be our new travel assistance partner, effective June 1, 2023.
Over the past few months, the GSC team has completed a thorough assessment of the travel assistance marketplace, and there were several key factors in selecting CanAssistance, including their experience providing medical and general assistance for travellers over the past 30+ years and their extensive network of international partners. Like GSC, CanAssistance is a not-for-profit organization and delivers all call centre services from within Canada.
We are working through the necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition, and we look forward to sharing further details in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, remember that there is no impact on any GSC travel plan coverage as it is business as usual. Your GSC account team will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
