<p>Have you thought about orthodontic treatment in the past, but didn&rsquo;t want to commit to a lengthy treatment plan, a large out-of-pocket expense, and submitting claims on a monthly basis?</p>
<p>We&rsquo;ve partnered with SmileDirectClub (SDC) to make it easier than ever to get the smile you&rsquo;ve always wanted.</p>
<p><em>This service, available at a discounted rate for GSC plan members, may be partially or fully covered under your benefit plan. Even if it isn&rsquo;t covered, the discounted rates still apply (for GSC plan members).</em></p>

<h3>Virtual/tele-orthodontics</h3>
<p>Offered to you and your eligible dependents (age 12 and over), you now have access to preferred pricing from SDC simply for being a GSC plan member. If you have orthodontic coverage as part of your benefits plan, SDC&rsquo;s orthodontic treatment may now be an eligible expense &ndash; noting reimbursement is subject to your existing benefits plan limitations. Better yet, SDC can check your coverage information on your behalf!</p>
<h3>How is this different than traditional/in-person orthodontic treatment?</h3>
<p>Orthodontic treatment via SDC is an effective, easy-to-access way to receive personalized orthodontic treatment from a licensed Canadian dentist or orthodontist. Your interactions with the dentist or orthodontist are completely digital, with no face-to-face appointments to schedule and get to. With SDC&rsquo;s teledentistry platform, you can access regular virtual check-ins with your treating dentist or orthodontist as needed, and access customer and dental-care teams 24 hours a day, seven days a week, via phone, video chat, email, or social media.</p>
<h3>Here's how it works&hellip;</h3>
<ul>
<li>SDC first ensures you qualify for treatment using an online assessment. Only mild to moderate teeth correction &ndash; including space between teeth, crowding, rotations, and some bite correction qualify.</li>
<li>If you qualify, an impression kit with instructions is sent to you in the mail. You return the impressions to SDC along with a few photos.</li>
<li>A 3D virtual treatment plan is created and approved by a licensed dentist or orthodontist in your province and is sent to you for review. Your approval is required to proceed with the next steps.</li>
<li>All of the clear aligners are mailed to you along with detailed instructions.</li>
<li>SDC will submit your claim to GSC directly, so there is no need for you to do it yourself, and you will only be required to pay SDC the portion not covered by your orthodontic coverage.</li>
<li>Aligners are worn as instructed until your treatment plan is completed, which is usually between six and 12 months.</li>

<h3>What&rsquo;s the cost?</h3>
<p>Through our partnership with SDC, you have access to the discounted rate of $2,830, a one-time fee inclusive of all the required treatment costs &ndash; an initial assessment, treatment plan review, and all aligners. Plus, if any consultations with the treating dentist or orthodontist are required, they are included in the one-time fee. Post-treatment retainers are recommended and are available at an additional cost.</p>
<p>This discounted pricing is available to you even if your benefits plan doesn&rsquo;t include orthodontic coverage, reducing your out-of-pocket cost. Better yet, SDC will check eligibility with GSC on your behalf, so you know if you have coverage before committing to the treatment. If you have coverage, your existing orthodontic plan limitations such as a maximum, copayment, and/or deductible will apply to your reimbursement.</p>

<h3>Things to keep in mind&hellip;</h3>
<p>SDC may not be eligible under your benefits plan, so be sure to check your coverage before committing to a treatment plan. Your eligible dependents must be at least 12 years of age to participate, and dependents under the age of 18 will require parent/guardian approval. Also note that your regular maximums, co-payments, age restrictions, and/or deductibles will apply to reimbursement.</p>
